Crypto Advocacy Group Endorses Congressional Candidates Ahead of Midterms

As the midterm elections draw near, the crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto has unveiled its endorsements for several candidates running for the U.S. Congress. This organization, launched by Coinbase in 2023, seeks to promote clear regulations for the crypto industry.

The group's endorsements include Republican Jon Husted in Ohio, Republican Ashley Hinson in Iowa, and Democrat Chris Pappas in New Hampshire for the Senate. In the House, they support Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa and Democrat Shomari Figures in Alabama.

These endorsements come amid polls suggesting that Democrats may regain control of both the House and Senate in 2027. A shift in majority could significantly impact the legislative approach to crypto-related bills, such as the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, which recently failed to advance in the Senate.

Stand With Crypto previously endorsed 32 House candidates in August, emphasizing the importance of supporting those they view as champions of digital asset policy. With just over a month until the elections, candidates are seeing increased financial backing from the crypto sector.

As the industry ramps up its political contributions through PACs and direct donations, Stand With Crypto warns lawmakers of potential consequences for not supporting key legislation, highlighting the growing influence of crypto in U.S. politics.
