IBIT Options Show Calm After Bitcoin's Recent Rebound

Options on BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) are currently pricing in smaller fluctuations compared to the volatility experienced during Bitcoin's recent rebound. Saxo Bank's analysis indicates that IBIT's implied volatility stands at 37.4%, while the realized volatility over the past 20 trading sessions was 45.5%.

Investment strategist Koen Hoorelbeke noted that IBIT's implied volatility rank is at 11.9, which is close to the bottom of its range for the past year. This suggests that the options market is anticipating a period of relative calm compared to the more turbulent conditions seen recently.

Implied volatility reflects market expectations for future price swings, while realized volatility measures actual past movements. Hoorelbeke also identified key resistance at around $87,000, where Bitcoin's price stalled on September 21, and support levels between $76,000 and $77,000.

As of the latest data, Bitcoin is trading at $84,751, marking a 1.6% increase in the last 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. The market's current sentiment indicates a cautious optimism as traders adjust their expectations following recent price movements.
