Learn Africa Plc has officially announced the retirement of Mrs. Egbichi Akinsanya from its Board of Directors, concluding her six-year tenure as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Her retirement will take effect on September 22, 2026.
The company expressed gratitude for Akinsanya's significant contributions, highlighting her role in developing company policies and enhancing its governance framework. Her efforts have been pivotal in laying a strong foundation for Learn Africa's growth and development.
Akinsanya joined the board in 2020, alongside technology entrepreneur Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, who recently also exited the board. Before her tenure at Learn Africa, she had a distinguished career in banking, regulation, and the consumer goods sector.
Her previous roles include Managing Director at FBC Beverages Company Limited and Group Treasurer at British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited. She has also held positions at Citibank Nigeria and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria.
Akinsanya is recognized for her expertise in corporate governance and finance, holding memberships in prestigious organizations such as the Chartered Governance Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Her departure marks a significant transition for Learn Africa as it continues to evolve its leadership structure.
