NRS and NUPRC Collect N123.54 Billion in June from FAAC Revenue

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) collectively earned N123.54 billion in collection fees from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) revenue for June 2026. This amount reflects an 8.6% increase from the previous month, where they collected N113.76 billion.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the NRS received N84.69 billion, while the NUPRC garnered N38.85 billion. This combined fee represents approximately 3.6% of the total N3.40 trillion distributed among the Federal Government, states, and local governments during the month.

The FAAC distribution for June included N2.65 trillion from the Statutory Account and N743.67 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT). The Federal Government received N818.68 billion, states received N759.14 billion, and local governments were allocated N534.28 billion.

In addition, oil-producing states received N188.13 billion under the 13% derivation fund, while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) received N30.62 billion. The increase in collection fees in June coincided with a rise in total FAAC distributions from N3.18 trillion in May.

This trend highlights the growing efficiency of revenue collection in Nigeria, as the NRS and NUPRC continue to play crucial roles in managing and distributing funds to various government tiers. Furthermore, Nigeria's subnational governments reported a significant rise in Internally Generated Revenue, indicating a positive economic trajectory.
