Stanbic IBTC Sees 40% Profit Surge, Announces N4.50 Interim Dividend

Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has announced impressive financial results for the first half of 2026, showcasing a 40.13% increase in profit before tax compared to the same period last year. The Group's gross earnings also rose by 27.15%, reaching N650.31 billion.

The Board has declared an interim dividend of N4.50 per ordinary share, marking an 80% increase from the N2.50 per share distributed in H1 2025. This reflects the company’s robust financial performance, driven primarily by a surge in non-interest revenue.

Despite a 5.40% decline in interest income and a significant rise in interest expenses, lower impairment charges and a remarkable increase in trading revenue helped offset these challenges. Non-interest revenue skyrocketed by 125.88%, contributing to the overall profit growth.

On the balance sheet, total assets grew by 26.59% to N10.91 trillion, supported by a 5.90% rise in customer deposits. The strong performance in shares, up 64% year-to-date, has investors keenly watching the sustainability of this growth and the implications for future valuations.
