About FIDELITY BANK PLC

Fidelity Bank Plc, a prominent financial institution, began its operations in 1988, having been incorporated in 1987 as a merchant bank. The institution evolved significantly over the years, transitioning to a commercial bank in 1999 and subsequently obtaining a universal banking license in February 2001. This strategic evolution allowed it to broaden its scope of services and customer base, solidifying its position within the Nigerian financial landscape. Further expansion of its capabilities came with securing an international banking license in 2011, enabling cross-border financial activities. A notable milestone in its growth was the acquisition of FSB International Bank Plc and Manny Bank Plc in 2005, which contributed to its rise as a major player in the Nigerian banking sector. The bank's core business revolves around providing a comprehensive suite of commercial banking services. These include various personal banking offerings like savings, current accounts, and loans; a robust range of products for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs); and specialized corporate, public sector, and private banking services, encompassing investments and mortgages. Fidelity Bank Plc primarily serves the Nigerian market, maintaining an extensive network of business offices and digital banking channels across all states and major cities within the country. In a strategic move to tap into international opportunities, the bank completed the acquisition of Union Bank UK in July 2023, subsequently rebranding it as FidBank UK Limited, thereby establishing a presence in the City of London to cater to its growing clientele with cross-border banking needs.
