About AFROMEDIA PLC

AFROMEDIA PLC traces its origins to West Africa Publicity (WAP) Limited, which was incorporated in 1928 by the Royal Niger Company to manage its media agency and media contracting display services. In a significant restructuring on October 28, 1959, WAP bifurcated into two independent entities to align with international conventions separating media agency from media contracting services: Lintas Limited handled agency work, while Afromedia Nigeria Limited was established for media contracting display services. Early in its history, Afromedia Nigeria Limited formed strategic partnerships with Mills and Allen International, a prominent outdoor advertising company in the UK, and British Franco Electric Company, a leading UK manufacturer of illuminated and road traffic signs. The company underwent indigenization in March 1974, coming under Nigerian ownership in accordance with the Enterprise Promotions Decree of 1972. Subsequently, Afromedia Plc was incorporated as a public company on July 2, 2008, and its shares were listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in May 2009. AFROMEDIA PLC operates as a specialized provider of Out-of-Home (OOH) media services within the advertising industry. Its core business revolves around outdoor advertising through various forms, serving a broad clientele that includes consumer goods manufacturers, industrial companies, political campaigns, and public relations firms seeking to enhance brand awareness. The company offers a comprehensive suite of products and services, segmented into Road Side and Transit (airport) advertisement. Roadside offerings include structures and billboards such as LED lamp post banners, IAT Unipoles, and traditional lamp post banners, along with super 48-sheet structures and light boxes. For airport advertising, its solutions encompass backlit boxes, electroluminescent structures, ultra-wave structures, drop-down banners, and wall drapes. AFROMEDIA PLC primarily serves the Nigerian market and indicates future intentions to expand its operations across Africa and Europe. The company's activities are managed through the parent company, its principal subsidiaries, and associates. AFROMEDIA PLC itself is a subsidiary of Afromedia Africa Proprietory Limited.
