CONOIL PLC traces its origins back to 1927 with the establishment of the Shell Company of Nigeria, which later became Shell Company of West Africa. The company underwent a significant transformation in 1975 when the Nigerian government acquired a controlling stake, leading to its renaming as National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company. In 2002, Conpetro Limited acquired the company, subsequently changing its name to Conoil Plc in January 2003. Its offerings in refined petroleum products include premium motor spirit (gasoline), dual-purpose kerosene, diesel, aviation turbine kerosene, and low-pour fuel oil. The company also produces and distributes a range of lubricants, notably under the Quatro brand, encompassing transport lubricants, industrial lubricants, greases, and process oils. Furthermore, Conoil is involved in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) segment, trading in bulk and packed LPG, cylinders, and valves. The company manages its operations through distinct segments such as White Products, Lubricants, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas, utilizing an expansive distribution network, retail outlets, and depot facilities across Nigeria.
