About SFS REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST

SFS Real Estate Investment Trust (SFSREIT) operates as a closed-ended Real Estate Investment Trust scheme, established in Nigeria to offer a platform for investors seeking opportunities within the real estate sector. The company was founded on July 23, 2007, initially known as Skye Shelter Fund, and later rebranded to SFS Real Estate Investment Trust by its unitholders in 2019. It made history as the first REIT to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, achieving this milestone on February 28, 2008. SFS Capital Nigeria Limited serves as the fund manager, while Apel Capital and Trust Limited acts as the trustee for the fund. SFSREIT's core business revolves around acquiring, holding, renting, renovating, and trading income-generating real estate properties. The portfolio typically includes residential homes, residential apartments, office blocks, shopping malls, and warehouses, primarily located in Nigeria. The fund strategically invests a significant portion, generally a minimum of 75%, directly into real estate, with the remainder allocated to real estate-related investments such as mortgages, real estate-backed securities, and real estate-related equities. Its property holdings are concentrated in key Nigerian cities, with properties in Lagos (particularly in the Lekki corridor and Ikeja) and Abuja. The Trust focuses on pooling resources from diverse investor classes, including pension fund administrators, investment managers, endowment funds, insurance companies, international investors, and individual investors.
