About STANBIC IBTC HOLDINGS PLC

Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC originates from the Investment Banking & Trust Company Plc (IBTC), established as an investment bank on February 2, 1989. IBTC later transitioned to a universal banking license in January 2002 before merging with Chartered Bank PLC and Regent Bank PLC in December 2005, subsequently becoming IBTC Chartered Bank PLC. A pivotal merger occurred on September 24, 2007, when IBTC Chartered Bank Plc combined with Stanbic Bank Nigeria Limited, which itself was founded in 1991 following Standard Bank Investment Corporation's acquisition of ANZ Grindlays Bank's African operations. To adhere to revised regulatory frameworks from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the entity adopted a holding company structure, officially incorporating as Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC on March 14, 2012. The company operates as a prominent member of the Standard Bank Group, a large financial services organization based in South Africa. As a financial services holding company, Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC offers a comprehensive suite of end-to-end banking and investment solutions to individuals, businesses, institutions, and corporations, primarily serving the Nigerian market.
