About BUA CEMENT PLC

BUA Cement PLC emerged from a strategic consolidation of cement interests within the BUA Group, formally incorporated on May 30, 2014, and commencing business in August 2015. The company's origins trace back to BUA Group's entry into the cement sector in 2008, initially through cement importation and the operation of a floating cement terminal. A pivotal development occurred in 2009 with the acquisition of controlling stakes in the Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN), a firm established in 1962, and Edo Cement Company. This evolution culminated in the merger of CCNN Plc and Obu Cement Company Plc (formerly Obu Cement Company Limited) on December 23, 2019, leading to the formation of BUA Cement PLC, which subsequently listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in January 2020. BUA Cement PLC operates as a prominent manufacturer and marketer of cement products, primarily under the "BUA Cement" brand. The company's core business revolves around producing CEM II-type cement, which adheres to Nigerian Industrial Standards and is utilized for a wide range of construction applications including block-making, plastering, and various concrete works. Its products are distributed across Nigeria in both bagged and bulk forms, serving the domestic market extensively. The company's operations are anchored by integrated cement plants in Edo State, known as the Obu Plant, and in Sokoto State, referred to as the Sokoto Plant, complemented by strategic depots in major cities like Lagos, Abuja, Ilorin, Ibadan, and Sagamu to ensure efficient nationwide supply. Kalambaina Cement Company Ltd., OBU & EDO Cement Company Ltd., and Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) are key subsidiaries within its operational structure.
