About GUINNESS NIGERIA PLC

Guinness Nigeria Plc, a prominent beverage company in Nigeria, commenced its operations as a trading entity in 1950, initially importing Guinness Stout from Dublin. The company transitioned into a full-scale manufacturing enterprise, establishing its first brewery in Ikeja, Lagos, in 1962, which marked the first Guinness brewery outside of Ireland and Great Britain. Guinness Nigeria became a publicly listed company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1965. Over the decades, it expanded its manufacturing footprint by building additional breweries in Benin City and Aba, and by 1986, it began investing in local sourcing of raw materials like maize and sorghum. Historically, it operated as a subsidiary of Diageo Plc, which granted it rights to import, market, distribute, and locally manufacture a broad range of international premium spirit brands. As of September 30, 2024, Guinness Nigeria Plc operates as a subsidiary of Tolaram Corporation Pte Ltd. The core business of Guinness Nigeria Plc revolves around the brewing, packaging, marketing, and selling of a diverse portfolio of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Its extensive product range includes popular brands such as Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, Guinness Extra Smooth, Malta Guinness, and Harp Lager. The company also offers a variety of spirits and ready-to-drink products, including Smirnoff Ice, Orijin Spirit Mixed Drink, Orijin Bitters, Smirnoff Vodka, Gordon's Gin, and select Diageo brands like Johnnie Walker, Baileys, Captain Morgan, Tanqueray, and Ciroc, which it imports and distributes. Guinness Nigeria primarily serves the Nigerian market, where it stands as a significant player in the beverage industry and is recognized as the world's second-largest market for Guinness brands. It also engages in the export of its products.
