About UNILEVER NIGERIA PLC.

Unilever Nigeria Plc traces its origins back to 1923, when Robert Hesketh Leverhulme established a trading post in Nigeria under the name Lever Brothers (West Africa) Ltd, initially focusing on the trading of soap. The company's name evolved over time, becoming West African Soap Company in 1924 and later Lever Brothers Nigeria Limited in 1955 as it expanded its manufacturing capabilities. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, including Lipton Nigeria in 1985 and Chesebrough Products Industries in 1988, the company significantly diversified its portfolio. In 1995, Lever Brothers merged with Unilever Nigeria Limited, ultimately leading to the adoption of its current name, Unilever Nigeria Plc, in 2001. The company operates as a publicly listed entity with manufacturing and trading interests in the consumer goods market and is a subsidiary of Unilever Overseas Holding B.V. Unilever Nigeria Plc specializes in the manufacturing and marketing of a wide array of consumer goods, primarily categorized into Foods & Refreshments, Home Care, and Beauty & Personal Care. Its extensive product offerings include well-known brands such as Close-Up and Pepsodent toothpaste, LUX and Lifebuoy soaps, Rexona deodorants, Vaseline lotions, Blue Band margarine, Lipton Yellow Label Tea, Knorr seasonings, and Sunlight detergent. The company operates manufacturing plants in Agbara, Ogun State, and Oregun, Lagos State, serving the Nigerian market with its diverse portfolio of essential household products. Unilever Nigeria Plc's commitment extends to providing sources of income to numerous Nigerians, including shareholders, distributors, suppliers, service providers, and employees.
