Learn Africa Plc traces its origins to 1961 with its establishment as Longman Nigeria, initially a wholly-owned book publishing firm under Longman Group UK Limited, which later became Pearson Education. The company has evolved significantly over more than six decades, becoming a publicly listed entity on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1996. After a period where it operated as a subsidiary of Pearson Plc, following an increase in Pearson's shareholding, the companies mutually agreed to separate their corporate entities in Nigeria. This led to the rebranding of the company to Learn Africa Plc in 2011, marking its emergence as an independent Nigerian publishing powerhouse. The core business of Learn Africa Plc is the publication, distribution, and marketing of high-quality educational, professional, reference, and general books. It offers a comprehensive range of learning resources, including textbooks and workbooks, teacher's guides, and general interest publications, catering to all levels of the educational system—from nursery, primary, and secondary to tertiary institutions. The company operates with an expansive distribution network primarily within Nigeria, serving the entire Nigerian educational landscape.
