PHARMA-DEKO PLC originated in Nigeria in 1962 as Parke-Davis & Company, initially operating as a non-trading branch of the US-based pharmaceutical firm to promote its products. The company formally incorporated under Nigerian law in 1969 as PARKE-DAVIS & Co (NIG.) LTD.. Following the Nigerian Enterprises Promotion Decree in 1972, a portion of its shares were sold to Nigerian citizens and associations, marking a significant step in its localization. In 1980, the company changed its name to PHARMA DEKO LIMITED and later became PHARMA DEKO PLC, under which it operates today. The company maintains its headquarters at Agbara Industrial Estate, Ogun State, Nigeria. PHARMA-DEKO PLC holds distinction as the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to achieve ISO certification and to install a canning line, and it is the only company manufacturing suppositories in the country. PHARMA-DEKO PLC specializes in the manufacturing, packaging, and marketing of a diverse range of pharmaceutical and consumer products, serving the Nigerian market. Its core business is segmented into pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and contract manufacturing for both pharmaceutical and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) for third parties.
