About OANDO PLC

Oando PLC, an indigenous African energy solutions provider, traces its roots back to 1956 as ESSO West Africa Incorporated. The Nigerian government acquired full ownership of ESSO in 1976, and later privatized a 60% stake to Nigerian investors in 1991. The company's modern identity began to take shape in 2000 when Ocean and Oil, an investment firm, acquired a significant interest in Unipetrol Plc. This led to Unipetrol's acquisition of Agip Nigeria Plc in 2002, culminating in the formation of Oando PLC in 2003 as a major integrated energy entity. The company maintains listings on both the Nigerian Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Oando operates across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the energy industry, encompassing a core business model that includes exploration and production, gas and power, and energy infrastructure. Its offerings span crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, as well as petroleum marketing, supply, trading, and refining and terminal services. Oando primarily serves the Nigerian and broader West African markets, while also exploring opportunities in the Gulf of Guinea and maintaining a global trading presence with offices in strategic locations like London and Dubai. Key divisions include Oando Energy Resources for its exploration and production activities, and Oando Trading which handles its extensive supply and trading operations.
