About BUA FOODS PLC

BUA Foods PLC originated from the establishment of BUA International Ltd. in 1988, which initially engaged in the importation of various commodities, including rice. The company's focused expansion into food production began in 2000 with the acquisition of Nigeria Oil Mills Ltd., marking its entry into the edible oils sector. This foundational step was followed by the incorporation of BUA Sugar Refinery Ltd. in 2005, dedicated to sugar refining, and the establishment of BUA Flour Mills in 2007. Further strategic growth included the creation of BUA Rice Limited in 2014 and the launch of IRS Flour Ltd. and IRS Pasta Ltd. in 2019, broadening its product offerings. A significant corporate restructuring in 2021 brought these diverse food businesses under the umbrella of BUA Foods Limited, which then converted into BUA Foods PLC and became publicly listed on the Nigerian Exchange. As a prominent agribusiness and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) enterprise, BUA Foods PLC processes, manufactures, and distributes a wide array of essential food products through its five primary divisions: Sugar, Flour, Pasta, Rice, and Edible Oils. The sugar division is a major producer of industrial and fortified sugar, including various by-products, while the flour mills produce different flour types for diverse uses. Its pasta division manufactures a range of pasta and macaroni, and the rice division operates one of Nigeria's largest rice mills, offering multiple rice varieties. The edible oils division specializes in transforming crude palm oil into refined edible oil products. BUA Foods primarily serves the vast consumer base across Nigeria and the wider West African region, leveraging integrated production facilities as a key subsidiary of the diversified BUA Group.
